Authorities stated that the parents of the baby accidentally locked the infant inside the car, and unfortunately, they also forgot the keys inside.
Heart-stopping video captured the moment a father smashed the windshield of a car to rescue an infant who was trapped inside.
The dramatic incident took place in Harlingen, a city in southern Texas, during a scorching hot day with temperatures reaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit last week.
According to Harlingen Police Department Sergeant Larry Moore, the child's parents had parked their car at an HEB store on Commerce Street around 10:30 am on July 19th. However, they accidentally locked the baby inside the car and left the keys inside as well.
Bystanders recorded the scene and posted the video on TikTok, which showed the desperate father frantically using a large stick to smash the vehicle's front windshield. He then cleared away the broken glass with his own hands, and a woman climbed inside the car through the opening to pass the baby to the father.
Sergeant Moore stated that police were called to the scene after the baby was rescued, but no charges are expected to be filed.
