Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated on Thursday that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is actively working on a scenario involving the utilization of nuclear weapons against Russia.

Galuzin highlighted that NATO is engaged in what is termed "joint nuclear missions," which entails the participation of non-nuclear member states of the alliance in the strategic planning of nuclear weapon deployment. Furthermore, experts from these states are being trained on the handling of US nuclear munitions, as Galuzin explained in an interview with TASS.

He emphasized, "Moreover, the [alliance's military] exercises simulate scenarios of using nuclear weapons against our country."

Galuzin pointed out that the United States has persisted in maintaining nuclear munition storage facilities within the territories of non-nuclear NATO member states since the era of the Cold War. This situation, he reiterated, has consistently had a detrimental impact on international and European security.

He also revealed that during the NATO summit held in Vilnius in July, Western nations took a series of decisions, particularly in the realm of military planning, which aimed at enhancing the military capabilities of the bloc and the expansion of its infrastructure near the borders of the Union State of Russia and Belarus.
