Amazon-owned eero has launched the $99.99 eero Signal 4G LTE, a device that serves as an instant backup when your internet goes down, provided you have an eero subscription.

eero Signal is designed to automatically switch to cellular when an outage occurs and then return to Standby mode when service is restored, making it ideal for work-from-home employees, those needing security systems to stay online, or those in areas prone to outages.

Customers can plug the eero Signal into any compatible USB-C powered eero device that has Wi-Fi 6 or higher, and choose between a $99.99 annual eero Plus subscription with 10 GB of backup data or a $199.99 eero Plus 100 plan with 100 GB of data.

The Device and Subscription Plans

The eero Signal is available now, with a 5G version set to launch later this year for $199.99, and support for the device will come to those on eero Business plans.

According to the company, the cellular network is only used intermittently, resulting in subscription costs that are less than most comparable 4G LTE plans.

Market Context

The launch of eero Signal highlights the importance of reliable internet connectivity, particularly for those who work from home or rely on online services for their business or personal needs.

eero’s move into the backup internet market demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing seamless and reliable internet connectivity to its customers.
