Apple has invited the tech press to a “special Apple experience” on March 4, marking a potential shift in how the company announces its upcoming products.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning a “three-day flurry of announcements” leading up to the March 4 event, which will include online announcements and hands-on experiences in New York, London, and Shanghai.
The company is expected to announce at least five new products, including a low-cost MacBook, with other possibilities including the iPhone 17e, an iPad Air with an M4 chip, and new MacBook Pro models.
The New Announcement Strategy
This approach differs from Apple’s standard press event format, where all announcements are made at a single keynote. Instead, the company will reportedly make online announcements over the course of three days, culminating in the March 4 “experience”.
Daring Fireball’s John Gruber has speculated that the experience could be “a hands-on thing with in-person demos,” allowing the press to get a closer look at the upcoming products.
Upcoming Product Launches
Gurman reports that all of the announced products are due this spring, although it’s unclear which ones will be announced on March 4. The new products are expected to include a range of devices, from iPhones and iPads to MacBooks and potentially more.
As reported by Bloomberg and Daring Fireball, the March 4 event will offer a unique opportunity for the press to engage with Apple’s latest products.
